Filed under: raw vegan — health @ 5:22 am

What a day we had yesterday, celebrating our first four weeks on Banana Island, transitioning to an 811rv lifestyle. The picnic that still hasn’t ended! I climbed over sleeping bags and blankets, tiptoeing past hammocks filled with sleeping revelers, to come type this post. What an awesome rawsome time we had!
We got up early yesterday, too excited to sleep in. We set up tables on the beach, covering them with brightly covered cloths and flowers picked on the island, anxiously awaiting the arrival of our guests.

Why?

Filed under: raw vegan — health @ 5:22 am

What am I doing? And why? Why raw food, why HIT, why this blog? Why publish it? This is my marathon post to kick this thing off.
I started with raw food because my health sucked. It still sucks but not so bad. After living life 100% raw with no fuck ups for about 4 months earlier this year, I got a taste of what it’s like. My motivation changed a bit after that. I now want to eat 100% raw because of how I feel when I do. If my motivation is that I want to “get healthy”, that would suppose that I’m currently unhealthy, and I’ve learned that the difference between health and sickness is mostly self image. In other words, I’m already healthy, I’m eating raw to get happy.

27 days have gone by, and we pretty much have the mono meal eating thing down. It will be interesting to see what Dr D has to say tomorrow, in our final e-mail. If he does not give us specific instructions, I intend to continue on with mono meals, reread
80-10-10
, and look to Marjorie and Sarah for advice, from their longer experience eating this way. We are getting a nice little community of like minds here to share this journey. I like that a lot! I even saw Raw Vegan Mama at VegSource, earlier this week. We are all learning, sharing, and growing together.
