I’m sure by now everyone is thanking that I am not a celebrity blogger or something of the sort, Reason being that I am always forgetting to do the work, writing on the blog. This last weekend was a whirl wind of emotions since it was hot and sticky - might I remind you that we have no air conditioning in our house. That has to be corrected sooner than later, I might melt. So, anyways this weekend I had a deep craving for everything that was no raw food. Thankfully I am not in the raw vegan cult and do not have a fear of eating cooked food at least once in a week. It is all about moderation and eating what your body needs for energy. So, my husband bought chicken nuggets and french fries from McDonalds. Talk about cheating! Those are my two comfort foods that if I could I would eat all the time. I know better though, do not worry.

BEAUTIFUL RAW LIVING FOOD SITE INSPIRING

Filed under: raw vegan — health @ 2:22 pm

My daughter forwarded this site to me and I was thrilled when I explored it as I remembered what England was like when I moved there in 1977, everything cooked beyond imagination, cups of tea all day long and tons of sweets - enough to create all the health problems I worked with for 12 years. I was part of the alternative medicine expansion in the UK and now the same thing is happening with raw and living food - wonders never cease. Enjoy the explore!

Food For Thought

Filed under: raw vegan — health @ 2:22 pm

I’ve been quiet the last two days, in a contemplative mood still digesting all the literature I’ve been consuming. After listening to four episodes of
Raw Vegan Radio
at work today, I have a lot I want to write about but I think I have to listen to the interviews again to gather my thoughts. In summary,
Angela Stokes
is very inspirational. Being very much close to the same weight she was when she started raw, I can really identify with her story. The interview with John Robbins, what a fascinating and wonderful man. I haven’t read any of his books, so I’ll be looking to read Diet for a New America soon along with Healthy at 100.

Apple Cranberry Juice

Filed under: raw vegan — health @ 2:22 pm

Question(s) of the day: Has anyone tried this? Everything but the stem…so the core? The Seeds? Will my cheapo blender handle it? If you tried it - what did you think? Let me know in comments!

I’ve not tried this in a blender. I do have a juicer and I’m sure the juicer could handle it though. Sorry - this comment doesn’t really help you if you don’t have a juicer. I just am not sure a blender could handle the seeds and core - you could blend it and then filter through cheesecloth if that makes it easier. Or just core the apple first. I’d do the cheesecloth though because then it will also catch any cranberry pieces so you don’t choke on them.

Raw Munchings

Was ravenous when I awoke this morning, and happily demolished sliced banana and half an avacado. Was very unlike me as I really am not a breakfast person, but maybe it was due to being out all day yesterday?!? I sat and ate with mashed avocado on my face - natural facial cleanse. If it’s good enough for our insides it’s good for the outside too.
