Ok, I just read about this dessert in Uncle John’s Unstoppable (16th Edition) Bathroom Reader. On page 62, it says, and I quote:
[Quote]
Schlagschocken
: The recipe for this dessert from Zurich, Switzerland, calls for 12 pounds of cream, sugar, eggs, honey, and chocolate, all reduced down to a single four-inch square of Schlagschocken.
Warning:
The Swiss are used to this rich treat, but visitors have been known to pass out from eating a single serving.

Bbbbbyyyyyahhhhh! I'm back RRrrrrrrraaaaaaaawww! Current mood:
bouncy I figured I’d better blog while trying to procrastinate on my homework. Well, maybe it’s the change of the weather in this freezer state but going back 100% raw has been getting easier. I originally went completely at the beginning of the year. For a whole month I ate only fruit, vegatables, nuts and seeds. I looked AWESOME!!! Somewhat “model-esque” if I may say so. And I FELT AWESOME!!! My brain foginess went away. And for you all that know me, I’ve always acted like a stoner (even though I don’t smoke pot). Well, after a month, I started slipping in some cooked food. Partially to do with the cold weather and drinking (GIVE ME GREASE!). Evil Whiskey and tequila. Makes me do bad things.

I woke up and had my last cooked food for a while. Margo and I have decided to continue to drink mate throughout Raw Week. The breakfast consisted of an egg on a whole-wheat tortilla, Cholula, and a handful of Robin Eggs, those lovely Easter candies that we all hate to love. Rupert asked me if I thought that I would be able to make some Rawbin Eggs. What a knee slapper, I know. Margo messaged me that her last meal was a “Rupertsize bowl of Peanut butter Bumpers and MILK”. Around mid-afternoon, I was so hungry that I went to the grocery store, bought some ingredients for Vietnamese Cole Slaw, a couple of Raw Vegan Bars, and a loaf of Hemp Bread, just in case I needed “an out”. I decided that I couldn’t be disingenuous to my Raw Week partner Margo by secretly eating the flourless, sprouted-grained bread. Instead, I quickly unwrapped a Vegan Bar and fought off the temptation for previously approved healthy foods. It is now the evening, and I feel satisfied, having had 1/2 of vegan bar, a large bowl of ’slaw, and 1/2 of an avocado. Tonight’s menu: Rawvioli. Yum!

This Greek Salad Plate included tomato and cucumber salad with feta, hummus with those addictive Trader Joe’s Pita Chips, a simple bean salad with canelli beans and capers in a light tomato sauce with feta, pepperoncini, and grilled eggplant. I’m loving the plate idea: five distinct, but complimentary items with a balance of color, texture, and (of course) nutrition. Lots of flavors and tastes, without over-eating.
